He specialises in financing and security matters, restructuring, bankruptcy, transactional advisory with respect to commercial issues, as well as private and public investments. In recent years, he has coordinated dozens of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions for the largest players in the market. He has significant experience in handling transactions for key players in industries such as banking, finance, media, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, insurance, construction, chemical, mining and heavy industries, and real estate. He is an expert in Polish, EU and American law.
For several years, he was a partner at an international law firm — responsible for banking, finance and restructuring departments. He also lectured on company law, restructuring and regulations of the securities market at the MBA programme at the Business School at the Warsaw University of Technology. He was a doctoral student at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw, where he studied company and commercial law.
He graduated from law at the University of Warsaw, British Law Centre at the University of Warsaw, the Utrecht University and Harvard Law School at Harvard University. In 1998, he qualified as a legal adviser in Poland, and in 2003 he became an attorney and counsellor at law in the USA.
In the ranking of lawyers in Poland, the IFLR1000 referred to him as “highly regarded” and placed him among the group of 146 recommended professionals in all areas of law. In 2017, Chambers & Partners ranked him in Tier 2 of restructuring lawyers in Poland, and his team — in Tier 1.
He shares his extensive legal knowledge “after hours,” which brought him the title of the Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year in 2006, awarded by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, a Polish daily newspaper. In his spare time, he breaks long-distance running time records and listens to classical and pop music.
